Exclusive Interview with Paradise Silicon Valley

Recently, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology announced the "First Batch of In-Listed Supplier List for Zhejiang Province's New Intelligent Manufacturing Public Service Applications," and Hangzhou AIMS Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., based in the High-tech Zone (Binjiang), made the list.

Lu Tianhua, Vice President of AIMS, stated that being selected as one of the first batch of suppliers in the database will enable the company to provide intelligent upgrade solutions for more industrial enterprises seeking transformation.

“We are honored to become a public application provider for New Intelligent Manufacturing. At that time, we will focus on three key areas—intelligent control, intelligent inspection, and intelligent operations & maintenance—to help industrial enterprises achieve a transformative leap toward "smart" innovation.”

"Three-pronged Approach" Fuels the Intelligent Development of Industry

High-quality industrial development requires not only achieving growth in "quantity" but also emphasizing the optimization of "quality." As a high-tech enterprise specializing in intelligent manufacturing and industrial digitalization, AIMS has been deeply rooted in the field of industrial intelligence transformation since its establishment. Driven by data and advanced algorithms, the company provides diverse hardware and software products and services tailored to various industrial enterprises, helping them achieve a win-win outcome in production efficiency, operational costs, product quality, and production safety—particularly in the areas of intelligent control, smart inspection, and predictive maintenance.

"Intelligence" in smart control is primarily embodied in the "controller." Lu Tianhua explained, "Just as self-driving vehicles can achieve autonomous driving and automatic parking, it's because their controllers handle a series of tasks—such as data transmission, analysis, and issuing commands."

The AIMS Process Optimization and Intelligent Control Platform integrates smart hardware with intelligent software. The intelligent software system connects to multiple sensors to provide real-time data feedback, paired with fully self-developed control algorithms and software. Together, these components leverage smart hardware to enhance control precision, replacing manual operations in the production process and enabling intelligent closed-loop control.

At the same time, this software system can also diagnose abnormalities in the production process and trigger alarms, reducing unnecessary downtime and making it possible to achieve a fully automated, unmanned production line.

In the realm of intelligent inspection, AIMS industrial vision integrated detection platform combines mechanical, electrical, software, optical, and algorithmic technologies to seamlessly transform products into stable, reliable quality-check images in real time. Leveraging advanced intelligent image algorithms, it significantly enhances the precision of identifying quality defects.

The detection platform, combined with expert experience models, identified the root causes of defects, helping new energy battery companies reduce losses caused by human errors in inspection and false detections, while also enhancing their ability to continuously develop and iterate visual inspection technologies.

Frequent equipment malfunctions at the factory have led to unexpected shutdowns and persistent quality issues, significantly reducing production efficiency due to lengthy analysis of root causes and extended repair times. As a result, some companies have experienced diminished market competitiveness.

The AIMS Intelligent Operations and Maintenance Platform has established a scientific equipment health management evaluation system. By receiving, storing, and analyzing data, the platform delivers functions such as abnormal maintenance, fault diagnosis, health monitoring, and equipment management. Additionally, it integrates mechanistic models and expert systems to develop maintenance strategies tailored to the actual operating conditions of the equipment, thereby reducing the occurrence of failures.

"Multiple Pilot Programs" Achieve Scenario-Based Intelligent Algorithms

From the process optimization and control platform, to the industrial vision-integrated inspection platform,再到 the intelligent equipment operation and maintenance platform, and the intelligent equipment modules… As of now, AIMS independently developed smart products have been successfully deployed at industry leaders such as CATL, China National Nuclear Corporation, and CRRC, helping them generate hundreds of millions of yuan in economic benefits.

But before that, AIMS also went through challenging times. "Intelligent algorithms are a rather broad concept—how to apply general-purpose AI algorithms to specific production scenarios requires a long period of trial and error. Without concrete benchmark cases for comparison, many companies still have their own concerns," Lu Tianhua noted. He added that the practical implementation of scenario-specific intelligent algorithms has been honed over an extended period of refinement.

In the nuclear power industry, many companies involved in nuclear energy remain cautious about intelligent transformation due to concerns over nuclear safety. "This requires us to maintain long-term communication with our customers," said Lu Tianhua. To address customer concerns and tackle the challenge of integrating smart algorithms with specific operational scenarios, AIMS has deployed a large team of algorithm engineers working alongside nuclear power experts. Together, they conduct on-site inspections and pilot projects to pinpoint the root causes of any issues.

Currently, AIMS has developed advanced non-invasive smart sensors and an intelligent equipment monitoring system specifically for the intelligent operation and maintenance of nuclear power plants.

Lu Tianhua introduced: "To achieve self-awareness and analytical diagnosis of equipment conditions, thereby driving the shift from preventive maintenance to predictive maintenance, we have developed a fault prediction and diagnostic algorithm model that seamlessly integrates real-time data collection and monitoring via non-invasive sensors. This approach has significantly reduced the likelihood of equipment failures. Additionally, routine manual inspection records are also uploaded into a dedicated equipment health management system, enabling a seamless synergy between human expertise and AI capabilities while minimizing the risk of errors."

"Now, several nuclear power plants have established stable partnerships with us." As for the future, Lu Tianhua expressed his hope to help more industrial enterprises across the country complete their smart transformation.

"AIMS will continue to deepen its involvement in the field of industrial intelligence, integrating more advanced industrial smart technologies to enhance its new intelligent manufacturing service capabilities, and driving the digital, networked, and intelligent transformation and upgrading of enterprises from multiple angles and across all dimensions."
